守株待兔英文故事

守株待兔的英文故事:

One day, a farmer's son was playing near a tree when a rabbit ran past. The boy chased after the rabbit and it ran into a hole. The boy decided to wait for the rabbit to come out.

Days passed and the farmer found out what his son was doing. He told him not to chase after rabbits or wait for them to come out of their holes, but to work hard on cultivating the land.

Days and weeks went by and the farmer's son still didn't work the land. He waited for rabbits to come out of their holes, just like his father told him not to. He never caught any rabbits and eventually lost his interest in farming.

However, when he saw others who were working hard in their fields and reaping rewards, he regretted his decision. He realized that his father's advice was right: only through hard work could one earn a living.

Therefore, "waiting for luck" or "chance" may lead to disappointment and frustration, while "working hard" is the only way to achieve success.
